Jennifer Johnson
Always knowing she was going to work with animals, Jenny Johnson can vividly remember saying at the age of 6 that she was going to work specifically with animals in the water. Born on Thanksgiving morning (causing her mother to miss her turkey dinner), Jenny spent much of her life in the corn-filled fields of Illinois working towards this goal. She graduated from Bradley University with a double major in environmental science and photography. This, of course, was after spending one of her semesters in a marine biology and ecology program hanging out with some super cool critters in Denmark and the Baltic Sea. Last summer and fall she continued her adventure in working with water animals by completing an AmeriCorps/SCA internship with The Nature Conservancy in New York. This internship was studying American eels. Now, Jenny is continuing to work with water critters at CDFG – Fort Bragg, her WSP placement site, and hoping that one day she will get a permanent position working with the awesome water critters she loves
